On Sept 4th, 2024, three students from Eastlake High School founded the 170th branch of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS): Lake Washington, WA Founders:

Description of Lake Washington, WA Branch
The purpose of our Lake Washington branch is to leverage our members’ knowledges in areas such as coding, arts, sports, gardening, and cooking to serve the broader community. Additionally, we aim to promote multiculturalism by actively participating in and contributing to local cultural events and groups.

We organize our activities through various projects tailored to specific interests. For instance, our current online teaching program (partnered with HHWG) is designed to inspire students of all ages to explore coding and develop leadership skills through classes, camps, and competitions.

We regularly host free coding, math and arts events, both in person and online, where kids can learn alongside peers who share their enthusiasm. As student volunteers, we take full responsibility for designing, advertising, and teaching at our events.

 

Current Programs:

Online Teaching Program partnered with HHWG(Held weekly on Sundays.)

Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Program

  • Sammamish Habitat Restoration Project  (Join the City of Sammamish for Habitat Restoration! Be part of meaningful environmental action by helping restore native habitats in Sammamish. )
  • Community & Social Events Support Project (Empowering vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods by addressing a diverse range of local community and social needs.
  • Community Cleanup Project (As part of this initiative, we will organize a series of cleanup events in city parks, lakes, public spaces, and communities that need attention.)
