On the 21st of July, 2026, AYLUS Lake Washington members Elissa Song, Jiayi (Joey) Zhu and Xingchen Song volunteered at the Big Rock Park Central Heritage Garden with the Sammamish Botanical Garden Society. They helped remove invasive plants in the garden, deadheaded flowers, and learned about important environmental skills and ways to effectively identify weeds. They also helped pick green beans to donate to a local food bank. Our members agree that this was an excellent opportunity to help out in the community and contribute positively to the environment. They each volunteered for two hours, starting at 10:00 AM and ending at 12:00 PM.
