Reported by Eric Huang, # Habitat Restoration Project
On November 11th, 2025, members of the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch joined the City of Sammamish to help plant native vegetation along the shoreline at Sammamish Landing from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During the three-hour event, our members worked hard to remove invasive species and plant native plants to support habitat restoration. While giving back to our community, we also learned about native plants and ways to enhance wildlife habitat.
Our team applied our knowledge of tools and physical labor to complete the tasks. Everyone demonstrated incredible enthusiasm, recognizing this event as both educational and fun. It provided us with a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our surrounding environment and contribute to the greater Sammamish community.
