On February 1st, 2025, AYLUS Lake Washington Branch members Elissa Song, Leo Chen and Ruoxuan Chen volunteered at 2025 Sammamish Lunar New Year Celebration event at Central Washington University (CWU) campus together with advisors Cici Sun and Cloe Zeng. This was an annual event held by the City of Sammamish, performing various activities, including performance shows, fun booths, photo booth, lion dance, etc., attracting hundreds of families to come and have fun.

Member Elissa Song and adviser Cici Sun worked at the booth of “Paper Snake”, helping kids craft a snake to celebrate the new Year of Snake. Members Leo Chen and Ruoxuan Chen as well as advisor Cloe Zeng helped at the photo booth, greeting people, maintaining the flow of the event, and assisting photographers.

This was a great opportunity for our members to adapt to various situations, connect with different people, learn how to communicate with others, as well as make new friends and acquaintances. Our participating members all agreed that they had a great experience with this volunteering event and look forward to working at another in the future.
