Description of AYLUS Garden City New York

The proposed Garden City, NY chapter of the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States
(AYLUS) will center its mission on student-driven volunteerism and meaningful coordination
with local entities that benefit from sustained youth engagement. Our founding members, Luis
Ye, President, Sophia Quinn, Vice-President, and Daniel Quinn, Secretary, aim to cultivate a
structured, reliable volunteer corps capable of supporting organizations across Garden City
and neighboring communities, including libraries, senior living facilities, community centers,
arts programs, and services supporting individuals with disabilities. Through proactive
outreach and ongoing collaboration, the chapter will identify needs and match them with
student-led initiatives that reflect both AYLUS values and local priorities.

Volunteer activities will span a wide range of service capacities typical of AYLUS chapters,
including art tutoring for younger students, music tutoring for developing performers, reading
to the visually impaired in partnership with accessibility organizations, and performing arts
programming-such as drama, dance, or musical performances?at senior centers or
retirement communities. Additional initiatives will be developed through student creativity
and community consultation, ensuring that the chapter remains responsive, innovative, and
aligned with evolving local needs.
