AYLUS Garden City volunteers participated in the Friends of the Library Book Sale during the Garden City High School Homecoming event on 9/19/2026.
Students helped sort and transport books from inside the library to the outdoor sales area and assisted customers during the book sale. They helped direct customers and locate books based on their interests and specific requests.
Through this activity, students practiced their communication and customer service skills while learning to listen carefully and search for specific books. The activity also encouraged students to work with patience and attention to detail while helping community members find what they were looking for.
The experience gave students an opportunity to support the local library community while contributing to the success of the book sale.
