On 9/19/2026, AYLUS Syosset volunteers visited the CP Nassau residential home in Hicksville to spend time with the residents and provide companionship and support.
During our visit, the volunteers organized a variety of activities, including coloring, arts and crafts. The residents participated in the activities at their own pace, and our volunteers provided assistance and encouragement when needed.
Since many of the residents at this location require a higher level of assistance with daily activities, our volunteers focused on creating a comfortable, friendly, and engaging environment for everyone.
We also took a walk with the residents to a nearby playground. The outdoor activity gave everyone an opportunity to get some fresh air, enjoy the sunshine, and spend time outdoors. It was also a nice way to encourage light physical activity and enjoy the benefits of sunlight and being outside.
The visit was a meaningful experience for both the residents and our volunteers. We were happy to spend time with the residents, bring some joy to their day, and support them through companionship, creative activities, and outdoor recreation.
