AYLUS Garden City Volunteers Support STEM Program at Roslyn Library 10/3/2026

AYLUS Garden City volunteers joined the AYLUS Roslyn and Oyster Bay Chapters to support a STEM workshop for students in grades 4–8 at Bryant Library in Roslyn on October 3, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM

During the event, Garden City members, Luis Ye and Daniel Quinn, assisted with welcoming and young participants and families, helping participants check in and get settled for the program. Garden City volunteers also assisted students during the hands-on STEM activities, helping them assemble solar-powered airplane models and solar-powered spinning satellite models.

The solar-powered projects gave participants an opportunity to learn how solar energy can be converted into mechanical energy while exploring concepts related to energy and space science. Garden City volunteers worked with the students during the activities, providing assistance and answering questions as needed.

After the program, Garden City volunteers helped clean up the activity area and break down the materials and equipment.

Through this service activity, AYLUS Garden City members supported a STEM educational program while gaining experience interacting with younger students and practicing communication, teamwork, organization, problem-solving, and adaptability.
