San Diego Branch Participated Trail and Habitat Conservation Project on 4/21/24

Reported by Bruce Xiao

On 4/24/2024, AYLUS San Diego Branch participated in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve Trail and Habitat Conservation Project to remove invasive plants.

In the morning, members first met Ranger Bri at the Station to sign in and receive an introduction to our target species. Then we dispersed through our native landscaping, equipment yard, and adjacent trail corridors. It was a mix of hand-pulling and hand-tool work with shovels, loppers, and hoes before bagging flowering and seeding plants in trash or gravel bags for disposal in the dumpster.

The following AYLUS San Diego members joined this event and earned 3 volunteer service hours for each:

Bruce Xiao, Annie Luo, Maxwell Yang, Felicity Chu, Brianna Chu, and Jason Fang
