On March 18th, the AYLUS Houston branch organized a meaningful volunteer activity at The Ballard House, where members prepared homemade muffins for residents and their families. Six volunteers worked together in the kitchen, bringing ingredients and using available tools to mix batter, crack eggs, and bake fresh muffins. The process required coordination and teamwork, resulting in a warm and thoughtful treat for those staying at the house.
In addition to baking, volunteers also assisted with cleaning and organizing a reference room, ensuring the space was tidy and welcoming for future use. This hands-on experience allowed members to strengthen their practical skills, collaboration, and sense of responsibility while giving back to the community.
We are grateful to The Ballard House for providing us with this unique opportunity to serve. AYLUS Houston looks forward to continuing our mission of supporting those in need and making a positive impact through service.
