On November 5, 2026, volunteers gathered at the Great Neck Station Library to help create an academic and productive evening for the tutees. ALYUS members collaborated with the students and explored many subjects. Linzi Yeung checked her tutee’s math homework, ensuring their work was thorough and accurate. Similarly, both Goldman Tian and Alex Li assisted middle school students, sixth grade and eighth grade respectively, with their arithmetic assignments, double-checking their answers throughout the process. Another volunteer, Brian Zhang, guided his tutee in French. They discussed common words and phrases used for habitual actions. Siwoo Song spent the productive hour supporting his pupil with math subjects, in particular geometry. Lastly, Xingzhi spent the hour reviewing a student’s American history homework for accuracy and comprehension errors. The pair collaborated to ensure that all questions were answered in the correct historical context. Several tutees attended the session, and all were extremely accomplished. They, like the volunteers, displayed dedication and motivation in their studies.
