AYLUS Bellaire Branch Volunteered at the Book Sale Event at the Houston Public Library Warehouse on June 04, 2022

On Saturday, June 4, 2022, eleven members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered at the Houston Public Library Warehouse from 9:00am – 3:00pm.

The volunteers helped with sorting second-hand books donated by various libraries and citizens into those in good condition and those not. These books were then further organized based on genre and age group for the monthly book sale that would be held on first Saturday of every month. Volunteers also helped with restocking bookshelves and assisting customers with finding books at the book sale event. All profits from the book sale will go to support future libraries as well as literacy initiatives around the neighborhood.

Eleven volunteers participated in this event: (9am-12pm) Alan Du, Danica Du, Alexander Tang, Andy Shen, and Zachary Xiao (3 hours); (9 am-1:30pm) Helena Wang, Miranda Wang, and Andrew Chen (4.5 hours); (9am -3pm) Beatrix Gnemi, Annie Zhou, and Abby Moses (6 hours).
