Austin Branch Hosts First Art Lesson on July 1st

On July 1st, 2020, the Austin Branch hosted its first free, online art lesson for elementary and middle school students. We taught students how to draw features of a human face, including the eye, nose, and mouth. Our lesson went over concepts such as sketching using basic shapes, how to blend, how to shade, and how to create highlights. Students followed along as the instructor gave step-by-step instructions on how to draw each feature. After teaching each feature, we gave feedback to each student on their drawing. Our first class was a success, and we had almost 50 participants!
