Sugar Land Branch Donates PPE and Cleaning Supplies

On March 29, the Sugar Land Branch donated a large amount of cleaning equipment to the nursing home where they usually perform weekly concerts to help them and their environment remain clean, preventing the spread of COVID-19. Among the cleaning supplies were: several bottles of rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, several containers of Clorox wipes, and some hand sanitizer. All of these were collected from neighborhood households–thanks greatly to those who donated.

Moreover, the branch subsequently decided to hold a fundraiser to raise money for face mask donations. Thanks to everyone who donated: Michael Ma, Albon Wu, Yijia Jiang, Hunter Han, and Jason Zhang. The donated money combined with generous donations from the community yielded a total of 1,000 masks. Such masks are especially needed by medical personnel and frontline workers; having proper protection for the staff working in senior center is also essential to prevent senior citizens from possible coronavirus infection. In addition, it is very important to protect essential city personnel who must maintain the city as normal during such critical situations. These masks were distributed on April 13 to the nursing home, the Fort Bend Medical Society, the City of Sugar Land, and the Sugar Land Police Department.
