Twin Cities Branch: Initiating Weekly Long Summer Talent [ TENNIS ] Workshop(8/4/23)

This year, AYLUS organized and hosted its first ever Summer Talent Workshops! This was a free class/workshop in which student AYLUS organizers created, planned, and taught their own workshop! We created registration surveys, flyers, and even a website dedicated to this huge event.

Among the workshops, Isabel Chen and Penny Pang organized and led the FUN Tennis Workshop at Minnetonka Middle School Tennis court.   we spent tremendous efforts on planning (location, date, supplies,  medical kits ,  emergency contact list , lesson plan etc.) and promoting the event . There were 6-8 kids aged 8-11 years old throughout the week, and never less than 6!
After this week of coaching and helping the kids, we learned many important lessons in different roles. At first we didn’t think that as a coach we would need to have the lesson planned out, though while planning we felt that it was necessary so we don’t panic and forget what to say. As the workshop started to end we gained more thoughts from a coach or instructors perspective than a kid or student’s. By the end of the week, we grew so much more than before because we learned to be more responsible, take the initiative for problems that arise as we progress. we believe that we can improve and do it better next time. we are excited to try it again next summer!
