Oct. 5, 2019, East Cobb Young Musicians 2019-2020 School Year Performance II

On October 5, 2019, 11 members of AYLUS volunteered by playing music for 2 senior centers, Arbor Terrace and the Solana.

At Arbor Terrace, we were very short on volunteers, so each person had to play multiple songs. Howard and Susanna performed a delightful flute piece accompanied with the piano. Ashley sang beautiful music that warmed the hearts of the seniors. Maxwell played a playful piano piece that joyed the seniors, and many other amazing pieces were performed.

Our music was greatly enjoyed by the seniors. At Arbor Terrace, we were welcomed with a large crowd. All the seniors were wowed by the performers performance. At the Solana, more people began to show up, so we had a large variety of people playing a large variety of pieces and instruments. One senior, deeply moved by one of the pieces played, commented that it “was really beautiful and amazing.” In all, the performances were an unqualified success, and we were able to entertain many seniors with our beautiful music.

Members felt amazing to be able to share their pieces that they were so hard to practice for. After so much hard work, the performers were complimented by the seniors, which made the performers so happy. After seeing such amazing reactions from the seniors, the performers will continue to work hard to prepare more pieces for the seniors.
