July 4, 2019 East Cobb Young Musicians Independence Day Performance

On July 4, 2019, 17 members of East Cobb Young Musicians performed  at 3 local senior centers for total 3.5 hours.

At the senior centers, several piano pieces were performed, a violin duet performed of Vivaldi’s Concerto for two violins was also performed, and at the end of the performances, all the members sand the Star-Spangled Banner to celebrate the Fourth of the July.

When we arrived at Alto, the seniors welcomed the members with excited faces . While the members performed, the seniors listened to the music with cheerful smiles and clapped along with the music. Because it for Independence day, festive looks were on everyone’s faces.

At the Solana, many seniors joined the audience as the performance began. The seniors at the Solana were very eager to see the performance. Large amounts of applause was given to the performers after they finished performing. While we were performing the Star-Spangled Banner, many of the seniors joined in with our singing. Many seniors had proud expressions for the love of their countries.

At Arbor Terrance, we were welcomed by a huge crowd. Since many of our members prepared several pieces, we played extra pieces for the seniors. Before the members left, the seniors had many wonderful responses to the playing. At the end of the performance, many of  seniors even asked for an encore. Many seniors complimented the performers of their wonderful playing. Some of the members were able to have conversations with the seniors. The staff were also very happy that the members went to perform. The performers were also happy to see such great feedback from the seniors.
