Gladstone Branch Volunteers at the Huaxia Chinese School Lunar New Year Festival

On January 19, the Gladstone Branch volunteered at the Huaxia Chinese School Annual Lunar New Year Festival, which took place in Bridgewater Raritan High School. Before the festival began, the Gladstone Branch helped set up activities in the cafeteria that kids could play to earn tickets, which were traded in for rewards. After the kids finished their classes, they went to the festival to play games and watch performers demonstrate their talent. This event lasted for 4 hours.

All of the members of the branch: Travis Xue, Owen Luo, Angela Xu, Jenny Xu, Duc Nguyen, as well as two new members, Castor Yuan and Grace Tan, helped the kids have fun by assembling games for them to play, and then running them. Through these activities, the children had a wonderful experience with Chinese culture. However, not only were kids joyful, but their parents were as well. It was wonderful to see everyone having fun that day! All in all, it was a great chance to interact with the younger ones in our community and increase the level of festivity in order to get them excited for the Year of the Rat!
