AYLUS Manhasset starts Clark Botanical Garden project on 4/27/24

on 4/27/24 AYLUS Manhasset members Matthew Yang and Eva Westbay started a gardening project to produce plants that are planned to be given to retirement homes and other people who would want them. We planted a myriad of sunflowers, strawberries, and other plants that could be later potted and grown into plants to donate, or to grow food for shelters and other applications. While we were there, AYLUS members and coordinators were also informed of new regulations that were in place, such as a limit of three (3) feet height for plants necessitating the repotting of certain species such as sunflowers.

We also did background work which involved growing the plants indoors before we could move them out when the garden opened.

Matthew Yang and Eva Westbay gained five hours of community service.
