AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered at the Houston Food Bank on April 14, 2024

On April 14th, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, along with other volunteers.

On this day, volunteers worked in the carousel area of the Houston Food Bank. There were two groups of volunteers, each completing separate jobs. The first group (2 people) checked the expiration dates of donated products and sorted them into bins based on their respective categories with labels outlined by the Houston Food Bank. The second group (1 person) took the contents of the bins, sorted them into their subcategories, packaged them into boxes, and labeled them by subcategory. Volunteers took a break at around 10:30 am for 10 minutes before continuing to work until the shift ended.

In total, the volunteers at this shift completed a total of 20 pallets, which provided 17,764 meals to the community.

Three AYLUS members attended this event (3 hours): Raymond Han, Samantha Yu, and Valerie Yu.

Thank you to our volunteers for sorting products for meals for our community!
