Murrieta AYLUS Lends a Hand to The Little Garden of Hope Project (29th ) (4/20/2024)

Reported by Jessica Lu :

On April 20th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS helped the Little Garden of Hope.
Members started by going to their local Home Depot and buying some plants and fertilizer to add to the garden beds. After, they transported the materials to the garden and started by rooting out all the weeds in the beds. It took some time but with time and dedication, members got it all out and cleaned it all into one pile. While cleaning, members noticed a baby rabbit hiding in a hole behind the fence. They decided to give it some fresh food and water. They improvised a water bowl with a bucket cap and cleaned it before putting some water in it. Then they picked some fresh lettuce leaves from the garden and brought it over to the rabbit. A few moments later, members were happy to see that the rabbit had snuck out from under the gate to eat and drink. Members got back to work and began to prepare the beds to be planted. In their first bed, they planted different types of pepper plants. In their second bed, they planted the tomato plants that they bought at the store. After finishing planting, members fixed the irrigation pipes to ensure that all the fresh new plants would be watered. Then they harvested some lettuce to bring to the people staying at the house and cleaned up.
