San Marcos Branch Raises 1000$ Through Bottle Drive for Orphanage in China

Although this post is long overdue, after 11 months of hard work the  members from AYLUS San Marcos Branch raised 1000 dollars for Shepherd’s Field Children’s Village through a“Bottle Drive” on April 9th. Shepherd’s Field Children’s Village is an orphanage in China established by Philip Hayden to help out disabled children. Members from AYLUS San Marcos Branch started Bottle drive in the end of last April, collecting bottles from neighborhood and trade it for 5 cents each. It is not a hard fundraiser to start out with, but it is certainly challenging to collect twenty-thousand bottles by asking it door by door. It requires perseverance and a loving heart to accomplish this goal, from preparing the flyer, doing presentation for the community, to asking manager from grocery stores and collecting bottles from door by door, this is not only a fundraiser, but also a memorable experience for everyone of the members from San Marcos Branch. It is truly amazing that the goal has finally accomplished on April 9th. Please applause for everyone who has participated in our bottle drive journey!
