Raritan Valley Branch Completed Eco Project #3 on August 8, 2020

Reported by Jessica Hong

On the 8th of August, 2020, the Raritan Valley Branch carried out Eco Project #3 in the Frost Woods park. The woods cover 11 acres of land. A good amount of litter was picked up. Caught and tangled up in the bushes were plastic water bottles, plastic bags, balloons, and other scraps of litter. Pieces of trash washed up in small brooks, and shards of glass were embedded in the sand. With the tropical storm passing only a few days ago, quite a few branches had fallen and crashed into the paths, making it harder to pass. Although a lot of litter was collected, this was only the beginning and we still have a long way to go. We hope to make Frost Woods an even cleaner place for its trees and plants, for the foxes and deers we saw, and for visiting humans too.

Volunteers: Tarun Sivakumar (1.5 hrs), Jessica Hong (1.5 hrs), Benjamin Hong (1.5 hrs)
