Phoenix Branch Volunteers at Environmental Education Center to Make Learning Boxes on August 12, 2020

On August 12, 2020 from 3-4:30 PM, Phoenix AYLUS volunteers helped out at the Environmental Education Center at Veteran’s Oasis Park. They helped make “Exploration Crate” which were boxes full of activities for students in K-4 grade to utilize in order to learn new aspects of science in a fun way. Volunteers molded play-do to create balls that the students could use to understand the different layers of the Earth. They also stapled instruction papers together as well as sorted out different stickers and cut out planets to assemble an activity. These included understanding sedimentary rocks, constellations, astronomy, and the solar system. The volunteers had lots of fun assembling these exploration crates for future students to use in order to learn from home.

Volunteers (1.5 hours): Katherine Wei, Andrew Yang, Ethan Wei, Kevin Li, Wenting Chen, Yongfeng Chen, Xinyun He, and Guangwen He
