West Essex AYLUS volunteers at Earth Day Animal Show on 4/20/24

On 4/20/24, West Essex AYLUS members volunteered at the Essex NJ earth day event from 9am – 3pm.  Prior to Earth day regular event, members brought their animals including rabbit, turtle, duck, etc. to the animal show and helped participating children interact with the animals. members also worked on setup, popcorn station, food and drink table and tear down.  Some members baked cookies to support the event.  The event leader Aily Wei arrived early to work with event organizer on task allocation and early morning setup.

Essex County held its annual Earth Day celebration for 2024 on Saturday, April 20.

The free, family-friendly event took place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Essex County Environmental Center, 621B Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland. It includes hands-on educational games and activities, canoe trips, bird walks, environmental information booths, live nature-themed music and an “eco-market,”.

“Earth Day gives us a special time to appreciate our world and reminds us of the importance of keeping our air and water clean,” Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. said.
