Syosset AYLUS Volunteers at the Cerebral Palsy Association At Seaford 12/21/24

On Saturday, December 21st Syosset AYLUS members help at the cerebral palsy association to pay the residents a visit. This association branches out to many locations and the one that Syosset was able to participate in was located in Seaford.

Volunteers went over with lots of hands-on activities to do with the residents. From crafts to gadgets, everyone had a fun time during the holiday season. As the group arrived, we were met to go over some basic protocol and what to be aware of. We went over the different foods and basic needs of every resident before getting to know each one of them. Every member sat down and helped them with festive crafts. Many started off with coloring in and making ornaments for the tree, while others moved on to make holiday cards for their outside groups. Getting to know one another was a great bonding experience for all, and the memories made were definitely appreciated. After we wrapped up the crafts, we set up some more active games such as darts, bean bags, and rings. The little games truly brought back some greater times for everyone; it was a truly nostalgic experience.
