Orange Branch Cleans Sleeping Giant State Park with the Cheshire Branch 09/03

Reported by: Monica Chen

On September 3rd, AYLUS Orange branch members cleaned up Sleeping Giant State Park in collaboration with the Cheshire Branch. They walked up the mountain, picking up any trash or road debris.

Sleeping Giant is a very well-known park that many people go to often – many AYLUS Orange families included. Any litter on the route would greatly impact the aesthetics of the park, so removing it significantly impacts the experience of park hikers and allows them to focus on the natural beauty of the park.

This event also allowed us to meet the members of AYLUS Cheshire and get closer with one of the AYLUS branches closest to us. The potluck prior to the event allowed members to meet each other and introduce themselves to anyone they may not know, or meet any parents of members of their own branch.

Participants include:

Chloe Chang (2 hours)

Monica Chen (2 hours)

Janet Fan (0.5 hours)

Annabel Guo (2 hours)

Anaya Kaoroptham (2 hours)

Ethan Liu (2 hours)

Evelyn Liu (2 hours)

Jessie Zheng (2 hours)
