Orange Branch helps out at a Boo Bash 10/13

Reported by: Monica Chen

On October 13th, the Orange Branch went to a local community school to help out with their annual Boo Bash night. Participants helped out before, during, and after the event. Before the event, members set up the decorations. They did many miscellaneous tasks, including putting up strings of lights, taping up tablecloths to cover up the gym, café, and hallways, setting up the food tables and games like mummy bowling, inflating inflatables/balloons, setting up skeletons and more. During the event, they mainly focused on manning the arts and crafts table. They taught children in grades 1-6 how to use the paint pens on black paper with stencils and assisted all who needed help. They cleaned up any messes in the area and ensured all children felt welcome. Members also switched around from time to time to help out the adults overseeing the other events. After the event, they deflated the inflatables, took down all decorations, cleaned up the trash left behind, and made sure everything was left the way it was when they got there.

Although it was a long night, it was also very enjoyable to help out so many children and make sure they had an unforgettable time!

Participants include:

Monica Chen (5 hours)

Melinda Sauer (5 hours)

Jenell Sauer (5 hours)
