Syosset AYLUS Members Volunteer at CP Nassau Home 2/2/25

On Sunday, February 2nd, AYLUS Syosset visited the Nassau Cerebral Palsy association home. This association helps ones dealing with cerebral palsy a chance to get the assistance and extra care that they need. Cerebral palsy is a disease that affects the brain and how one functions; it affects all aspects of life such as hearing, vision, speech, and more. AYLUS Roslyn was also here to help out.

Due to the cold weather, the volunteers stayed in the main home opposed to the rec-room that the residents are usually located in. Volunteers are always looking for new ways to entertain the residents and get them active. From simple activities such as identifying colors to playing board games, everyone had a good time. Many residents enjoyed crafts as well as coloring, and other volunteers engaged in conversations with them as well. While some did not have the capability to physically show a response, volunteers knew that they still appreciated the visit and time spent.
