On Saturday, October 14, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, members of AYLUS San Clemente helped out at the Harvest Pumpkin Patch at Esencia Farm in Rancho Mission Viejo. This is an annual event hosted every fall by the farm. First, to prepare for the event, one of the workers on the farm asked our members to help sort and bag bay leaves into their respective gift packets to be sold to the public. The members also helped to package microgreens and mint tea leaves into small containers and placed them on display decks for sale. Once the event started and people started gathering in the farm, large wheelbarrows of pumpkins were prepared in order to re-stock the long rows and patches of pumpkins that many families were picking out their perfect pumpkin from. The patches were being depleted of pumpkins by excited children fast! Our members had to quickly replenish the rows with new pumpkins to keep up with the increasing demand. Overall, each and every one of our members had an amazing time volunteering at the farm’s pumpkin patch and they can’t wait to come back next year!
