Oakland Gardens Branch Hosted Another Fundraiser for TeamSeas (10/15/2023)

On Sunday, October 15th, 2023, from 9:30 am to 12 pm, volunteers from the Oakland Gardens Branch hosted a fundraising sale to support Team Seas, an organization dedicated to removing trash and plastic from our oceans, seas, or any other bodies of water. For every one dollar that we manage to raise and donate, this organization will remove one pound of trash from our oceans.

During the 2.5 hours we hosted the fundraising sale, our members worked hard to fundraise money. Our members worked in coordination to help each other out as well as making this experience an enjoyable memory. We managed to raise and donate $53 to Team Seas which will remove 53 pounds of trash and plastic from our oceans, seas, and bodies of waters.

As we participate in more events, our members are growing in their capabilities, developing more of their leadership, integrity, and innovation skills. The parents of our members are happy that AYLUS has given an opportunity for the kids to grow, to turn into young leaders that can make a change in their community.

Special thanks to our local Post Office for allowing us to host this event near their store! All the goods we had today for our fundraising were donated by our members’ generous parents. Thank you!
