Riverside County AYLUS Members Create Dog Toys for local Animal Shelter in September, 2023

During the month of September, RCA continued its support for the local animal shelter. The group decided to continue its pet toying making event by recycling old t-shirts. The shirts were prepared, cut into strips and then braided. Two different styles of toys were created. Many local animal shelter have been in distress in recent weeks due to overpopulation. Oftentimes these animals stay in the shelter for days if not weeks and months with little to no entertainment. This has a negative impact on the animals. The group hopes that these toys will help alleviate the loneliness and the boredom that many of these animals are experiencing. During this month alone close to 100 handmade pet toys were created for the animal shelter. By recycling old t-shirts the group also helped reduce the trash on the landfills thus helping the environment at the same time.
