AYLUS Dix Hills works with Old Westbury to set up the new school year on September 10th, 2023.

Old Westbury and the AYLUS Dix Hills Branch collaborate to give kids the best possible education. As the beginning of the school year is come, the AYLUS Dix Hills works to distribute the textbooks and assign all students their classrooms at the beginning of the year.

Afterwards, AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers worked as teacher assistants, assisting students who were having difficulty understanding the lesson and ensuring that everyone was on task and had their assignments.

Volunteer teacher assistance can benefit the teaching capacity of teachers by reducing the workload of teachers by assisting with tasks such as grading assignments, preparing lesson materials, and providing one-on-one support to students. This can free up time for teachers to focus on delivering high-quality instruction.

By supporting teachers in their work, AYLUS Dix Hills can help to create a more positive and supportive learning environment for all involved. This can lead to better outcomes for students and increased satisfaction for teachers. We hope to continue this ongoing initiative!

Volunteers: Ru Xue Jiang (5 hours and 30 minutes) Lilian Chen (5 hours), and Ming Chen (6 hours).
