On June 24th, members of AYLUS Raritan Valley came together to teach others sports at Johnson Park. The purpose of this event was to promote healthy and active lifestyles and embrace sports as a means of physical fitness and community building.
At Johnson Park, volunteers chose an open field where there was ample space to teach sports. Volunteers first taught the fundamental skills of volleyball and badminton, including how to serve and use the basic strokes. The volunteers then hosted games, in which the students gathered around in a circle to practice passing to each other. At this stage, the volunteers taught all the students the importance of teamwork and furthered their knowledge of basic skills by providing them with valuable game experience.
The humid weather only livened the atmosphere in the park. Everyone participated in a sport of their interest and was able to socialize on this summer day!
