On June 21st 3:30-5:00pm, AYLUS Syosset volunteers met up with councilwoman Veronica Lurvey of North Hempstead, Town Supervisor Jennifer S. DeSenda of North Hempstead, Town Councilman Peter J. Zuckerman of North Hempstead and Councilwoman Christine Liu of Manhasset to receive volunteer awards. The supervisors and council members along with the parent advisors of AYLUS Manhasset (Gracie Chen) and AYLUS Syosset (Francina Liu). This award ceremony took place at Manhasset Public Library . Other branches that were present include Dix Hills, Manhasset and Roslyn.
Aylus Syosset branch members were also involved in setting up chairs for the participants and brought water bottles for the event. Members also waited outside the library for incoming members and directed them to the room inside. We also stayed after and cleaned up the area after the ceremony.
AYLUS Syosset is extremely grateful and appreciative of the recognition that members and advisors have received and we hope to continue making a better impact on our community.
