On May 26th, AYLUS volunteers went out to Southdown Park to help with the city event, Concerts in the Park.
The volunteers split into three groups to help the city with parking, promoting the city wilderness program called Edu-Katie, and AYLUS with promoting their organization. The first group of volunteers helped to promote Edu-Katie by leading groups of kids in water coloring on the concrete. The kids made adorable drawings of many things like flowers and the landscape. Other kids started an intense game of Tic-Tac-Toe along with some of our volunteers.
The second group helped with directing traffic and helping attendees find a spot to park. Parking was such a breeze with our volunteers helping out!
The third group helped out at an informational booth set up by AYLUS volunteers to give out free plants, treats, and food to the community, recruit new willing members, and promote our organization as a whole.
Overall, the event was a huge success, and our volunteers all had a wonderful time!
