On April 1, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members and guests lended a hand to the STAT horse sanctuary. They began with an astute and surprising observation: Jack the turkey was on the roof. They then cleaned the goat pen, removing the old hay with rakes, then fed the goats some carrots. They were incredibly eager, leaning against the fence for more. After the wheelbarrow was dumped, they then moved to muck out some of the horse’s stalls. Due to recent rain, only a few were cleanable, and those that were were swiftly cleaned. They visited their garden, examining any seedlings, before bidding farewell to the animals.
