Great Neck volunteers to teach elementary school students Chinese on 2/12 2023

On Sunday from 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm, the GreatNeck AYLUS branch helped out at a school of Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island.

In the beginning of the class we review the vocabulary that they learne before and watching some videos about Chinese zodiac. and then we start learning some new Chinese words together. As a TA, We can help to create a positive and engaging learning environment by organizing games and activities that encourage students to participate and practice what they have learned and it’s important to maintain a good relationship with the students and establish a clear line of communication with the teacher. This will help to ensure that the students are receiving the best possible education and support in the classroom. Additionally, it’s important to  maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times and to follow school policies and procedures.

At 4:00-5:00pm the students start the cultural class, in the art class we do heart for valentines(give the heart who you want!to thanks for them! To say I love you). Making art can be a therapeutic and fulfilling activity, and creating something with your own hands can bring a sense of pride and accomplishment. Additionally, giving the finished product to someone special can be a meaningful and thoughtful gesture.  how much you care and appreciate them, and it can be a memorable and sentimental gift.
