February 14th is Valentine’s Day, but February 15th is World Children’s Cancer Day. On this day, Sky Tianyi Han, the President of the Aylus Great Triangle Chapter, Olivia Li, Chairman of the Performance Department, and Chenyue Li, Chairman of the Handicraft Department, went to the UNC Children’s Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina on behalf of all volunteers of the Aylus Delta Triangle to deliver their sincere and kind blessings, and send warm care to the sick children. On this day, the Aylus (GTA) volunteers brought handmade “worry worms” and love cards with the Chinese calligraphy word “福” (blessing) symbolizing happiness, joy, and health, hoping to bring comfort and strength to the children with cancer. They brought a lot of love to each child and wished them a speedy recovery and a happy new life. The President of AYLUS (GTA), Sky Tianyi Han, introduced the meaning of the word “福” in Chinese to the hospital representatives, and explained that the volunteers wrote their well-wishes on the back of the word. These gestures were all aimed at bringing more warmth and care to children with cancer, hoping for their speedy recovery, good health, and reunion with their families.Sky Tianyi Han introduced the meaning of the Chinese character “福” to the representatives of the children’s hospital and said that while volunteers wrote the character “福”, they also wrote well wishes on the back, hoping to send good blessings to all patients. In addition, the volunteers also crocheted “Worry worms” to help patients forget their worries and bring joy. The hospital representatives were very happy with the visit of Aylus volunteers and conveyed the children’s gratitude to the volunteers. The volunteers felt that everything they did here was meaningful, and they hoped to promote the concept of love and care to the whole society through this action. This was a very heartwarming action, and the visit of AYLUS volunteers brought a lot of positive energy and encouragement to the children at the UNC Children’s Hospital Cancer Center. When they are sick and in pain, children need not only medical treatment and medication, but also spiritual comfort and support. By sending love cards and ” Worry worms”, Aylus volunteers brought psychological care and help to the children.
