AYLUS Great Neck made donations to Kings Wheelchair Basketball on Women’s Sports Day (2/2/2023)

On 2/2, the AYLUS Great Neck Branch dedicated their time to help out a bake sale for Kings Wheelchair Basketball. Our branch members donated food to the bake sale and helped sell extra items.

Jack Graff, a member of the National Wheelchair Basketball Hall of Fame, founded the Kings wheelchair basketball team in 1987. He wanted to use competitive athletics to give physically challenged people in Nassau county and the surrounding areas a means of expression. The Kings are a part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association and the Eastern Wheelchair Basketball Conference, both of which were founded in 1953. They offer various schools in the county an educational format in addition to their competitive schedule. Each year, the squad members delivers awareness talks at various schools. The team also puts in a lot of effort throughout the year to welcome new disabled people, providing “sports” and “recreation” to those who are impaired and desire to participate in such sports as a part of their rehabilitation and general quality of life.

The money we receive will be donated to Kings Wheelchair Basketball to show our support for them.

Volunteers (2 hours): I-Han Liao, Fanxi Xia, Yunhe Luo
