On Sunday, December 18th, volunteers from the AYLUS Columbus Branch performed a Music for You concert at the Seton Square North Retirement facility. This facility has a relatively high percentage of senior Chinese American residents. Some of our members’ grandparents were among the residents in the facility. One of the members’ mother, Eva Chung, organized this first music performance event at the facility. From 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., volunteers played music on the piano and violin. Turnout for the performance was great, and the residents enjoyed the music. The volunteers played music of many genres, including pop, classical, and holiday songs, and Chinese music, in solo or ensemble. AYLUS-Columbus alumni, Ethan Chung, also came to the event and performed. Some of the participants of the event were new AYLUS members or students who are interested in joining our group. We received a lot of positive feedback. The volunteers continue to beautify their community through their talent and artistry.
