Murrieta AYLUS Make Greeting Cards for Seniors 1st (12/31/22)

Reported by Adora Xiao

On December 31, 2022, Murrieta AYLUS members took a trip to the Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Public Library to hand write cards for senior citizens.     They started with brainstorming different ideas for what to write. This included holiday greetings, wishes of prosperity, and general thanks. They carefully wrote short messages, while bouncing ideas off each other. Then, they began drawing. They researched different landscapes and flowers, and shared colored pencils to bring ideas to life. Some also wished to use watercolors to decorate their cards. They wanted to add something extra special, and came up with the idea of adding an extra touch to the cards. They folded different origami shapes to include in the envelopes. These included hearts or cranes, which were then carefully packed with the cards.
