On December 10th, 2022, members KaiXi (Cathy) Liu, Jessica Lu, and Hsin-Chen (Julie) Lu went to go help out their local food bank, WEF. This time, the staff had members go through the medicine aisle and check the dates of all the medicine. If the medicine’s expiration date was during 2022, then members would put the medicine in an empty cart. So the members divided the shelves up. One member took the top and one took the bottom. The other one would go to the shelf opposite it and would work on that one. There was so much medicine that was expired that members had to get a couple of empty carts to put it in. Once a cart was filled, members were given a black marker to write a new price on the medicine. So, members took the filled cart and another empty cart to the back and crossed out the current price on the medicine, and wrote two x’s on it, which represented one dollar. After all the medicine’s price change was complete, they would leave the cart in the back, bring another filled cart into the back, and redo the process. When members finished, they looked over their work and they were satisfied with it. Members signed out and look forward to their next visit to WEF.
