Columbus branch went to donate the collected food and non-food items to Dublin Food Pantry on November 21st, 2022

On November 21th, 2022, the AYLUS Columbus branch went to donate the collected candies, food, and non-food items they collected from the their own families and families in their neighborhood to the local Food bank, the Dublin Food Pantry, which provides food, hygiene products, and resources to individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity in the Dublin, Ohio area.
Due to the pandemic and the inflation, there has been a growing need by the communities that food bank serves. When the branch went to donate these items, there was a long line of cars waiting to pick up items from the pantry. In total, the branch donated 125 pounds of food items including candy, ramen, cookies, soup, crackers, oatmeal, cereal, pasta, peanut butter, and non-food items, such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, chewing gum, soap, hand sanitizer, Q-tip, dental floss, and disinfectant wipes. Before the donation, branch member, Brenna Li, also carefully checked the made sure only items within clear labeled expiration date were donated.
The branch hope the donation can bring some holiday joy and relief to the underserved community that the Dublin Food Pantry serves.
