AYLUS Syosset volunteers help a plant sale at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center on 05/04/24

On Saturday, May 5th 2024, Syosset AYLUS volunteers came together at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center to help at a plant sale. The sanctuary is home to flourishing native plants, songbirds, and more. Guests can also find a mile-long trail. The sanctuary focuses on spreading native plants, pulling out invasives, conserving natural resources, and sharing their love for nature.

This Saturday, a plant sale was held where guests could explore the sanctuary and make native plant purchases. Volunteers were asked to stay at the front desk to hand out clipboards for shoppers, assist customers in transferring plants, and directing guests. Natives varying from trees and shrubs to vines were all for sale. Together volunteers helped raise money where all proceeds would go towards the sanctuary.

Volunteers + Hours: Aaron Wong, Camille Chen, Amanda Gao, Suiwai Li, Suiying Li, Rita Bao, Nicole Zhang, Rachel Zhang: All 3 hours.
