Murrieta AYLUS Lends a hand to Murrieta Field of Honor Event on 11/05/2022

Reported by: Adora Xiao

On November 5, 2022, Murrieta AYLUS members lent a hand setting up flags for veteran’s day.

This year is the 14th annual Murrieta Field of Honor, it honors heroes –those who served or are serving in the United States armed forces, law enforcement, fire and other first responder posts, plus personal heroes.

Our branch is helping to set up the flags in Murrieta’s Town Square Park.

Members quickly realized the air was chilly, bundling up before moving the sticks that set the flags in place. They were collected from trucks on the side, before being scattered across the field. Then, they waited for people to drill the metal into the ground. Afterwards, they began moving the flags themselves. The flags were set onto the metal poles, the rubber bands removed, before the flags were unraveled carefully. They repeated this in multiple different areas, marveling in how quickly teamwork allowed for the field to be covered. Taking a short walk across the pathways amongst the flags, they relished in the hard work.
