AYLUS Murrieta Helps Local Food Bank (1st) and Hosts Its First Park Cleanup (8/13/2022)

Reported by Julie Lu

On August 13, 2022, AYLUS Murrieta members volunteered at a local food bank, Western Eagles Foundation (WEF): Adora Xiao (3.5 hrs), Hsin Chen(Julie) Lu (3 hrs), and Jessica Lu (3 hrs).

The members also hosted their first park clean-up at Temecula Duck Pond:  1 hr each.

The members arrived early before WEF had opened yet to help out with the work. They were assigned to clean each aisle in the toiletries section and moved on to the food section after they were done. Nearly half the cart with wipes by the time they were done wiping the shelves. After dusting off the furniture, the members finished up, excited to return the following week.

After stopping for a quick lunch break, the members moved on to do a park cleanup at Temecula Duck Pond. Each equipped with a trash picker, they set off looking for trash around the park, admiring the ducks along the way.

The members look forward to meeting together and helping their community again soon!
