West Essex AYLUS Special Needs Children Event – Adaptive Recreation Shadow Program July 25th – 29th, 5 days

In the week of July 25th (7/25-7/29 total 5 days), West Essex AYLUS joined Livingston NJ Adaptive Recreation Shadow Program to assist special needs children who attend Livingston township summer camp.

The Adaptive Recreation Program provides trained volunteers to “shadow” individuals at the summer camp. The shadow works with the specific needs of the individual to help him or her participate more comfortably within the parameters of the program.

The camp is located at Mt. Pleasant Middle school in Livingston NJ.  Camp includes two pool days a week, field trips, arts and crafts activities and special events.  Example of activities: art and craft, playground time, ball games, gaga, water play and so much more.

Full day camp starts at 8am and ends at 3pm each day.

West Essex AYLUS member: Jasmine Chen 20 hours (7/25-7/29 8am-12pm); Valentina Zheng 32 hours (7/25 8am-12pm, 7/26-7/29 8am-3pm)
