AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered at ED White Elementary between June 27- July 7, 2022

The AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at Ed White Elementary school in Houston, Texas on June 27, June 28, June 29, June 30, July 6, and July 7.

On each particular day, volunteers assisted the school faculty in teaching and aiding the students at summer school. There was a wide variety of academic grade levels that volunteers were given the opportunity to assist in, ranging from Pre-K to fifth grade. Some of them tutored smaller groups of students in the cafeteria, polishing the students’ spelling, reading comprehension, and basic algebra skills, while others cooperated with the campus teachers to watch over entire classes. Given that the last few days of the volunteer event were synonymous with the ultimate days of the summer school, volunteers further helped the school staff by cleaning up and carrying the remaining furniture and setting up games for smaller groups of students.
