Greater Temecula Valley AYLUS Hosts a Music Recital at a Local Senior Center in September 2021

On September 6th, 2021, Greater Temecula Valley AYLUS (GTVA) members Ally Negulescu (3 hrs), Adora Xiao (3 hrs), Julie Lu (3 hrs), and Jessica Lu (3 hrs) visited and hosted their second recital at their local senior center!

AYLUS members stepped into the beautiful library with a sense of familiarity. It had been about a month since their last recital, and they missed the wonderful environment very much! Not only did they miss the place, the audience also missed their music! Members walked in only to be greeted by an already excited audience awaiting for them. After a little bit of set up, tuning, warm-ups, and messing around, everyone was all fired up and ready to carry on their performance!

Today’s performances were exciting, to say the least. Featuring piano, violin, and a surprise at the end, members took turns performing their pieces. Starting off, we had Jessica fire everyone up with Intermezzo in E Major by Brahms, which was followed by Adora playing the Adelaide Concerto by Mozart. Then, the recital was hyped up even more by Julie playing the English Suite No. 2 by Bach. The spotlight was stolen by Jessica playing both the Vocalise by Rachmaninov, and the Sonata No. 3 in F Major by Handel. Last, Adora closed it off with the Sonata No.7 in B-flat Major by Mozart. Right after, Ally pulled out her surprise instrument, which was a Handpan, and created an impromptu duet featuring all the members! (except Julie since she refused to dance…)

The performance slowly came to an end as the audience longed for more. Members, once again, received lots of really positive feedback and was invited back for yet another recital! Everyone can’t wait to return once more!
